Doncaster is putting the finishing touches to its list for 2019, adding another four more recruits for the Eastern Football League Premier division campaign.

Chris Colombo (Heathmont), Luke Stacker (Balwyn), Kyle Viccars (Waverley Blues) and Simon Harris (Templestowe) have joined the Sharks for this season.

Doncaster also announced in November that VFL and SANFL premiership player Nathan Batsanis had signed with the club after a year away from football.

Stacker and Viccars have come through Oakleigh Chargers in recent years, with the former a member of Port Melbourne’s training academy this season.

Colombo has also spent the past two seasons on Sandringham’s list in the VFL, playing eight development league games in 2017.

Colombo and Viccars will complement Jake Kalanj and James Munks in the forward line, while Batsanis and Stacker will add to Doncaster’s midfield.

“We’ve added some real quality top-end talent with Nath Batsanis coming on board,” first-year coach Stewart Kemperman said.

“He’ll certainly inject another level into the midfield particularly, and the guys do seem very fit so what that does for us is allows us greater depth of midfield options to go through there.

“A lot of the guys are still quite young, we forget the age of them and just the natural progression and growth. We’ll hopefully see some improvement.

“I’m excited about the young guys coming on board and in particular a few of the small forwards we’ve been able to acquire.”

Harris will provide Doncaster another tall option and will give some relief to ruckman Ewen McKenzie.

“That will allow a bit more flexibility with the guys up forward … we might be a little more balanced in terms of our big men with that extra tall if we can keep them both on the park,” Kemperman said.

“I’m excited but not disillusioned either because I realise the competition we’re in is going to be competitive.”

Jake Hall (Calivil United), James Saville (Strathmore), Josh Turner (Lower Plenty) and Josh Whelan (Deniliquin) have departed Schramms Reserve.

Doncaster opens its season against Noble Park at Pat Wright Senior Oval on April 6.
