Rd 9 vs Templestowe - Home

At mid season Doncaster is placed second on the ladder and well placed for September action. Importantly, the reserves are performing far better than in recent seasons, having won seven games. The under 18's have won four from 9 games. Four of the boys will join the senior training squad in coming weeks

Seniors

Best Players: G. Jarvis, T. Wright, M. Schimmelbusch, B. Schaeche, A. Gallace, L. Parker

Reserves

Doncaster 16.6-102 def Templestowe 4.6-30

The reserves continue to play good football and this week defeated third placed Tempy. The team is now 10 points clear of 5th position and look likely to participate in September action. With fourteen players on the injury list, and many set to return after the break, it will be a coaches nightmare and a committee persons dream !!

Best Players: H. Ruggeri, J. Rossoukas, A. Watson, S. Byrne, J. Lumicisi, C. Valkenburg

Rd 8 vs Warrandyte - Away

Seniors

Doncaster 10.13-73 def by Warrandyte 16.7-103

suffered defeat to a well drilled Warrandyte. They led all day and no matter how hard coach Bester tried to rally the boys, it was to no avail.A very disappointing performance

Goal Kickers: Radford 2, rest singles
Best Players: Tempany, Polak, Hislop, Parker, Hill, Martin

Reserves

Doncaster 14.12-96 def Warrandyte 2.7-19

A good performance from the team which is littered with senior experience. The Sharks were far too strong and won comfortably. It's positive from a club perspective to see the depth of our list, which should allow the coaching staff to ponder over team selection this week

Goal Kickers: Rossoukas 4, Lumicisi 3, Coad 2, Paolini 2
Best Players: Valkenburg, Lumicisi, Gibbs, Watson, Angeli, Batista

Under 18's

Doncaster 14.11-95 def Warrandyte 9.9-63

Best Players: Wilson, Snibson, Taun Henderson, Contreras, Celle, Liebelt

Rd 7 vs Ringwood - Away

Seniors

Doncaster 17.13-115 def Ringwood 6.6-42

With a strong breeze Ringwood (3 goals) held the Sharks goalless in the first term and kicked the first goal in the second quarter. Trailing by four goals the boys clicked and kicked five goals to lead 5.7 to 4.4 at the break. The second half belonged to Doncaster, displaying a brand of football which, moving forward, is required for four quarters

Goal Kickers: Gallace 4, Annakis 4, Radford 2
Best Players: Hislop, Schimmelbusch, Collins, Jarvis, Annakis

Reserves

Doncaster 13.7-85 def Ringwood 3.6-24

In blustery conditions it was a scrappy affair for the first half: Doncaster 4.4 to Ringwood 1.3. The Sharks took control in the second half to record a good victory. The reserves are 4th on the ladder, which clearly indicates the depth of the club has improved this season

Best Players: Lumicisi, Rock, Johnson, Komen, Mooney, Batista

Under 18's

Doncaster 8.5-53 def by Ringwood 27.17-179

We cannot under estimate the importance of the u18's.
Two weeks ago a 200p loss, last week 100p win. This week another bid loss. A lack of numbers makes it extremely difficult to compete with the better teams. The club is working diligently to field a team, which includes a number of boys who are capable of representing the seniors in coming years

Goal Kickers: Contreras 2, Thornbury 2, Tseros, Liebelt, Snibson, Pianta
Best Players: Ellis, Snibson, Taun Henderson, Contreras, Ross, Liebelt

Rd 6 vs Chirnside Park - Home

Seniors

Doncaster 11.12-78 def Chirnside 6.5-42

In a lacklustre performance, not helped by the conditions, the Sharks defeated Chirnside by 5 goals. Doncaster led all day and an 8 goal buffer at 3 quarter time guaranteed victory. With the aid of a strong breeze, Chirnside kicked late goals to reduce the margin

Goal Kickers: Annakis 4, Hislop 2, Martin 2
Best Players: Hislop, Schimmelbusch, Parker, Peduto, Polak, Jarvis

Reserves

Doncaster 10.9-69 def Chirnside 5.5-35

bounced back after the previous weeks disapointment to record a win. The job was made easier by the return of key players in Magdis and Lumicisi for their first game of the year for the club

Best Players: Lumicisi, Tempany, Ghasperidis, Johnson, Byrne, Valkenburg

Under 18's

Doncaster 16.22-118 def Chirnside 2.3-15

Who ever said a week is a long time in football !! After being kept goaless and defeated by over 200 points last week, the boys turned it all around and were victorious by 103 points. Although short on numbers we have some quality players who will add depth to the senior ranks in coming years

Goal Kickers: Liebelt 5, Contreras 4, Snibson 3
Best Players: Snibson, Taun Henderson, Contreras, Ross, Liebelt

Rd 5 vs Nth Ringwood - Away

Seniors

Doncaster 16.9-105 def by Nth Ringwood 16.15-111

Suffered their first defeat of the season to the undefeated Nth Ringwood by 6 points. A high standard game saw NR take a two goal lead at quarter time. NR forged two goals clear until the Sharks goaled with 90 seconds left but eventually ran out of time.

The boys battled hard against a team which last week won 36 goals to no score. At half time we trailed 4.2 to 6.4, but with several players joining the team in the last fortnight, lack of fitness proved a telling factor. There are some talented players in the team, and provided they are committed to training, a win is around the corner

got off to a slow start to our nemesis side of 2010 being down by 5 goals at one point in the first quarter, after reeling in the deficit in the second, the side drew away to run out 8 goal winners. Best - Battista, Disco, Jarvis, Schimma, Annakis & Hill

Reserves

Doncaster 25.17-167 def Coldstream 4.2-26

depth at the club is at its strongest in several years and it showed in the Reserves as they controlled the match all day to run out comfortable winners with Mcguire leading the way with 9 (or was it 10) goals. Best - Geary, Paolini & Goodwin

Colts

Doncaster 8.7-55 def by Coldstream 15.10-100

fantastic effort to get a side on the field (even if it was 17) with clearances being chased up the night before, well done to Darren Antrim- you've only aged 10 years n the last 2 weeks !! At 1 goal to 9 at halftime with no bench and playing with one less, things should have got ugly but to outscore the opposition in the second half is a credit to the boys and shows there's plenty to work with if we get a few more - on that, anyone interested in playing Colts still, please contact the club. Best - Aaron T-H, Liebelt & Pianta
