The 2020 EFL Season has been Cancelled.

Season 2020 Update – COVID 19

A message to all sponsors, members, players and supporters.

Yesterday the EFNL notified all participating clubs that the 2020 Season was officially cancelled (press release attached) due to the Covid 19 pandemic and related restrictions put in place by State and Federal Governments in relation to the use of public venues and the number of people permitted to group in a public space.

The Doncaster Football Club is disappointed with the decision, but accepts that it was the right decision in view of the current situation we find ourselves in. The well being of our playing group, coaching staff, volunteers and club members is paramount in this ever changing environment.

The club is working very closely with the EFNL and Manningham Council officials to ensure that the season is not a complete write off, we are hoping to provide updated information in relation to possible sporting and social activities that can take place later this year. Watch this space.

We would like to thank our loyal sponsors and members for their continued support which sees the club in a strong position off the field. We implore members of our community to ensure they support our sponsors as best they can through these continued uncertain times.

A massive thanks to our coaching panel, led by Stewart Kemperman, and our Football Operations Manager Mick Gillin for the mountain of work that has been done over the extended pre-season to keep the playing group fit, physically and mentally.

On a positive note the club is pleased to advise that Stewart Kemperman has been re-appointed as the club’s Senior Coach for season 2021 and Mick Gillin has also agreed to continue in the Football Operations Manager role. Great people make great things happen.

Once again, thank you for your ongoing support of the Doncaster Football Club and we hope to see you all, restrictions permitting, later in the year at the club.

Go Sharks,

Sean O’Gorman – President DFC
